You will be responsible for providing sexual assault victim advocacy and a non-clinical response that is trauma-informed, gender-responsive, culturally competent, and recovery-oriented.
You will apply basic strategies for skilled communication, including developing rapport and actively listening, to provide initial victim advocacy services and crisis intervention support for adult victims of sexual assault.
You will demonstrate expertise in offering guidance to victims on reporting options, explaining exceptions and limitations, and ensuring understanding of the eligibility criteria for Special Victims' Counsel/Victims' Legal Counsel/Victims.
You will ensure victims of sexual assault receive information and support during administrative, medical, investigative, and legal procedures.
You will implement mandatory standardized risk screening protocols to address immediate risk and safety concerns and apply strategies to develop tailored interventions that address the needs of individual victims.
You will collaborate and consult with other SAPR personnel on the installation to ensure efficient service delivery, manage caseloads, and meet reporting requirements.
You will manage and maintain up-to-date case files, ensuring compliance with legal, privacy, and organizational policies and victim advocacy professional standards.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Must be able to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays, in an on-call or rotational basis. The on-call or rotational status requires varied work hours, to include a requirement to be available 24/7.
Must obtain and maintain an active D-SAACP certification in accordance with (IAW) Section 584 of Public Law 112-81 and DoD Instruction (DoDI) 6495.03 as a condition of employment, and any subsequent policy updates applicable to this program.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing sexual assault advocacy services; developing and implementing crisis plan of actions and sexual assault assistance plans; assisting with developing and coordinating command SAPR prevention and awareness campaigns or events; AND conducting education and training sexual assault workshops/seminars.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing sexual assault advocacy services; assisting with developing and coordinating command SAPR prevention and awareness campaigns or events; AND conducting education and training sexual assault workshops/seminars.
Applicants must possess a degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position OR combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position OR successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree. OR a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position OR successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree. OR a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
