Research Associate 1

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Associate 1 to work at UHealth, Boca Raton.

Core Job Summary:

The Research Associate 1, SOM supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.

Core Responsibilities:

• Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
• Participates in the publication of significant results.
• Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
• Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.

Department Specific Functions:

The Department of Neurology Cognitive Program is actively seeking a full-time bilingual (English Spanish) Research Associate 1. The Research Associate 1 supports research activities under the direction of a principal investigator, or designee of the principal investigator.

• Performs specialized and complex procedures related to a wide range of research studies/substudies.
• Participates in the publication of significant research results.
• Advances expertise through education, training, and research.
• Participates in training sessions and workshops.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
• Completes questionnaires and neuropsychological evaluations of cognitive outcomes of normal aging in men and women as part of a nutritional intervention study.
• Ensures study participants are provided in-person handoff of investigational product.
• Assists the senior clinical research coordinator with managing electronic case report forms, database input, and IRB compliance.
• Performs specialized and complex procedures related to a wide range of research studies/sub studies.

Core Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required
• No prior experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, as studies recruit diverse populations.
• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
