Job Description

A global supplier of automotive metal components is currently seeking a motivated Japanese / English Bilingual Sales Manager to join their facility to the south of the Battle Creek, Michigan area. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in sales operations and leadership, business-level language ability in Japanese and English, and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Sales Manager Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain relationships, manage existing accounts, and procure new business from customers
• Conduct internal and external sales meetings and product demonstrations
• Collaboration with sales teams and clients regarding product planning and demand
• Create price quotations and assist pricing / cost negotiations
• Market research and analysis
• Achieve sales goals and revenue targets with minimal supervision
• Oversee in-office sales employees and customer service representatives
• Occasional domestic and international travel as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Sales Manager Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Engineering field preferred
• Minimum 5-7 years’ sales management and business development experience in the automotive or similar manufacturing industries preferred; specific experience with OEM customers is a plus
• Advanced conversational Japanese language ability (JLPT N3 equivalent or higher) is required
• Good communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well while working independently
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
