The Trainer will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include familiarizing members with the facility, maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for members and visitors, motivating members that seek support, conducting and running the Planet Fitness PE@PF program including creating and following the schedule, consulting with members regarding their fitness goals and providing motivation and support, instructing and acclimating all members to each piece of equipment in the club ensuring they know how to properly and safely use the equipment, creating bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises, meeting class requirements based on club size and member traffic, assisting in front desk related activities such as answering phones, checking members into the system, new member sign-up, taking prospective members on tours, tracking inventory, participating in the daily cleaning of the club and general maintenance of the equipment, responding to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and elevating to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed, and other duties as assigned based on club needs. Qualifications include being 18 years or older, having a high school diploma/GED equivalent, a passion for fitness and health, an upbeat and positive attitude, punctuality and reliability, exceptional customer service skills, strong listening and problem-solving abilities, diplomacy in interactions, current CPR Certification, and a Personal Training Certification from a preferred association (IFA, ACE or NCSF). Physical demands include continual standing, walking, bending, crouching and reaching, continual listening and talking in person or on the phone, ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, and occasional encounter with toxic chemicals during shift.
